How to get Current logged in user for UI5 application in SAP Portal

Hi,

I am building an UI5 app and deploying it in SAP Portal.

I need to retrieve User Id of logged in user of SAP Portal who is accessing the UI5 iView . Can you please suggest how to get logged in user details in SAPUI5.

I went through the SCN forms but didnot find an official way of finding the logged in user for UI5 app.

Thanks and Regards,

Yugandhar Reddy

    Hi Yugandhar

I think that you can use Portal Activity Report to monitor the hits. Portal Activity Report tracks information about the number of users who visited each page and iView, and that should do the work for you.

A small view about Portal Activity Report :

The portal activity report feature enables portal administrators to gather and present information about portal activity, including information about the users who logged on to the portal and about the content that was viewed.

The feature includes an iView that can display a portal activity report with one of the following:

    • Information about the number of users who logged on during a specified period of time
    • Information about the users who logged on
    • Information about the number of users who visited each page and iView

    Hi,

You can have portal component that retrieves the user id in the response.

    request.getUserId

Then in the UI5 app just make an ajax call for this portal component to get the Id.

    best regards,

    Tal
