Connect SAP to MySQL to fetch data using ABAP report

Hi friends,

I want to connect SAP to MySQL Database to fetch data from it using ABAP report, i went through the discussion that happened on 2009 between Mr Former Member and Mr Gudmundur Karlsson

But i also read in recent discussions that using ODBC to connect SAP to MySQL via MSSQL doesn't work.

Kindly advice me on how to connect to MySQL from SAP and fetch data using ABAP report? As it an urgent requirement
