report shows non-existing values in summation accounts in rows depending on column definition

The problem occurs in EPM version 10.0 SP24 Patch1 under NET 4.

Reports Show values in a total account though the belonging base accounts are Zero or empty.

This true also for an extremely simple Report. Whether or not the "ghost" data is shown depends on the way the columns (the contain dimensions time, category and segment) are defined.

In other words, the system displays non-existant data for a summation account (accounts are in rows) depending on  the way the columns are defined. Even though the parameters do not really Change.

For Illustration please refer to attached document.

Perhaps somebody has an idea?

Hi Ivonne,

First of all, please provide the BPC and BW versions and SP!

Second - please check data in RSA1

Hi Vadim

than ks for your fast reaction

BPC Version is 10.1 SP6.

BW Version is 7.4 SP 11

I do not have access to RSA1 at the customer myself but will ask somebody else.

The issue is, that EPM gives different results for the same parameters depending on the way the column definition is done.

Ivonne,

Vadim is right ... it can be an SP issue ... there are lot of clients that have older SPs and don't have the same issues ... so upgrade is one way to fix this or try to figure out what is happening. For ex.:

Are all of the model dimension processed and green? Is the model optimized? How many hierarchies are in the account and time dimension? Are any of those new? What happens if you try to pull in the ghost number with an EPMretrievedata formula?

Akos

PS ... and someone should check the data in BW as Vadim recommended

The update did not solve the issue.

Finally it turned out that some dimensions were not properly processed in the productive system after the last Transport, even though they were shown as processed (green). Concerning this point SAP recommends to implement notes 2098211 and 2211612. Also the Fix should be part of BPC 10.1 SP09
