ESR Object does not appear in the PO.

Hi Experts,

We are in the midst of migrating our PI 7.11 to PO 7.4. I tried to export the objects of one of the interface from the production server in PI and import the TPZ file into the development server in PO 7.4. However, the objects does not appear at all in the namespace in the PO. I have tried the below steps but it is not helping. Any idea how to solve this? Hope to get it solved. Thanks.

Steps taken:

  1. Checked in the cache status overview of the ESR and it shows that it was imported successfully.
  2. Refresh the SLD Data Cache and re-import it again.

Regards,

Shawn

Hi Shawn,

I usually export the namespaces first and then the comple SWCV.

As Bhavesh stated, do you have dependent SWCV?

Kind regards

Hi Konrad,

I think i've screwed up the version of the ESR in SAP PO 7.4. I've explained the steps which i took in my reply to Bhavesh. Can you also share some light to me? Thanks.

Hello Shawn,

How is the Export file being created? Are all dependent objects being imported? Is the import into PI successful? Is this possible to share some screenshots?

Hi Bhavesh,

I think i know the issue and probably this could be due to version of the ESR. Here is the scenario in steps. I think i have screwed up the version of the ESR. Can you advice me how to choose the version which i want it to be reflected into the Dev. Server in SAP PO 7.4?

SAP PI 7.11

Dev Server

Prod Server

SAP PO 7.4

Dev Server

Prod Server

Steps:

  1. Copied the ESR from Dev server from PI 7.11 over to Dev server PO 7.4
  2. Did some changes by editing the Service Interface of the ESR in Dev server PO 7.4
  3. Decided to revert back to the old version by exporting the ESR from Prod Server from PI 7.11 and import to Dev Server PO 7.4. But the version in the ESR does not reflected in the PO 7.4.

Thanks this now makes sense,

  • So, when you have made changes to the Service Interface in your ESR in Dev PO 74, and then imported from production PO 74, due to a change, there would have been a Version Conflict
  • In your Dev PO 7.4, you see a Conflicts Tab? If yes, go to the Conflicts Tab and navigate to your SWCV, ESR and select the Service Interface in question. Open the same.
  • The Service Interface will now ask you which version you want to select -> Original ( i.e, the one where you made changes in Dev PO 74 ) or imported ( i.e, the Production PI 74 imported ). Select the correct one ( Note : The exact terms might be different here as I havent seen a conflict screen in a long time but concept remains same ).
  • Once you select the version you want, you will see this in your changelist. Activate the same and you are one.

If you do not want to deal with conflicts,

  • Delete the SWCV from your ESR Dev PO 7.4
  • Reimport the File from Production PI 7.4 into ESR Dev PO 7.4

I would suggest you try the Conflicts option as that provides you with a understanding of how to deal with Conflicts but the latter approach is easy especially if you are relatively new to PI.

Let us know how this goes.

Hi Bhavesh,

Thanks for your advice. May i know how to turn on the conflict tab in SAP PO 7.4? I can't find the settings. Not sure if i need to turn on any settings. In my ESR screen, i can't seems to find the conflict tab.

Hello Shawn,

  • Do confirm you have logged out and relogged in to your ESR post the import. Normally the Conflict tab gets displayed post a Conflict Occurs in the next Log in to your ESR.

  • If you still cannot see the conflict tab, can you try to open the object in conflict ( Service Interface ) and see if the Conflict options get displayed.

  • Likewise, can you check if this object in conflict ( Service Interface ), is in any of your open changelists and see what happens.

If you still cannot see this conflict, can you share a screen shot of

- Service Interface in PO 7.4 Dev with the change timestamp

- Service Interface in PI 7.4 Production with the timestamp of the final version in Production.

- Export TPZ file objects contained tab

- Import TPZ File objects contained tab

- Import TPZ File import results when you import.

Bhavesh

Hi,

thanks for your reply. Yes, I checked the software component version is there. Should I restart the PO server?

Hi

the next option is to check your export as Bhavesh and Konrad mentioned.

Check export all dependent objects while exporting.
