EPM disabled but not possible to enable

For some of our users, the EPM gets disabled and if we try to enable the EPM add-in under COM Add-ins, it doesn't work. We check mark the box and enable the EPM add-in but somehow the check mark disappears and we are not able to enable the EPM. How should we do to be able to get EPM tab back for the users with this issue?

Hi Johanna,

Can you please check the following excel options in the machines where you are facing issue and ensure that these option should be marked OFF.

Go to File -> Option -> Trust centre -> Trust center settings -> " A new window will open " Go to Add-ins -> remove all the option of this addin. Close the excel and enable BPC addin and check.

Do you get the following message when you try to view the COM Add-ins?

Then the  issue may be with the registry settings.

I suggest you run the steps below:

1. Open Excel with "Right click > Run as administrator" and then enable EPM add-in in COM add-ins.
2. Uninstall and install EPM add-in again with "Right click on the installation file > Run as administrator" if step1 doesn't work.

If the user select the box, the box is unselected again. It is like the checkmark doesn't get "stuck".

We have now performed the steps in the note. But it didn't work.

We still get the same error message as the note mention.

Hi Johanna,

As mentioned in the Note, when you change the LoadBehavior in the registry to value 3 and then open Excel, are you able to see the EPM Add-in?

If no, then go back to the registry and check if the value was reset to 2. In some cases, the registry values get reset even after manually changing the value.

HI Nedra,

I actually have users who need to enable EPM everytime they start excel. So I tested the first note that you attached but it doesn't work even if the user configure trust center.

I too have faced the same problem, but the re-installation (first uninstall & again install; in my case i have upgraded EPM to SP25) works for me.

We have tried to uninstall and install again but that didn't work for us. But we haven't tried it in combination with a newer EPM patch. Will test it.

What version of Excel and EPM Add-in are you running? Any other SAP add-ins installed? Can you include a screenshot of the Add-in screen?

Hi Akos,

Excel version 2013 and EPM add-in SP19. We will soon upgrade to SP24. No other SAP add-in is installed on the computer.
