Dear All,

We have the requirement where we need to display a message onto the SAP ESS Portal  once the user logs onto the same.

Customer can create a dummy message in notification Infotype and when the employee logs on, the notification is being displayed onto the first screen.

Hi Sonu

As per the requirement that you have mentioned, you can use the Broadcast Messages feature in Portal to send messages to groups of portal users at runtime. You can refer to the below links which will give you more information about the implementation of the Broadcast Messages.

Broadcast Messages - Portal - SAP Library

Broadcast Messages in SAP Enterprise Portal - YouTube

Hi Sonu,

There are two ways:

1)  Create a html page(with marquee tag) as required and upload it in KM Content. Copy the url of this    html page by launching it from KM Content.

Create an url iview using the above url and add the iview to Framework page (just below the masthead).

2) Using Broadcast messenger also you can display the message in marquee style. For this get the broadcast messenger war file(com.sap.portal.broadcast.message.framework.war) from the server and make changes in bcm_ui.js and bcm_ui.html files.

We got the same requirement and we followed the second way(broadcast messenger) to achieve it. We are able to display the scrolling messages on the portal.

Regards,

Kamal
