Maintenance Plan schedulling issue

Hi PM Guru,

I have a scheduling question.

Please have a look at the setting in Task list and strategy, the packages are of the same hierarchy.

When scheduling, the 1Y is separate from the 1M/2M/4M.

I expect they are the operations are in the same order.

Please get me corrected.

Thank you so much,

Sally

Hi All,

I have it answered by myself.

In the Strategy setup, I need to ensure the Unit is unique within one strategy or else it generates separeate orders even though the multi packages are due at the same time.

Thank you.

Your strategy is mon, mon and year units in a strategy should not be problem for Time-Key date.

Hi Maria,

In terms of strategy, it is no problem.

What it does in scheduling is the 2 separated order based on the 2 different units, Mon and Year.

Thank you so much,

Sally

Hi Sally,

What is the scheduling Indicator ? Is it Time or Time - Key date

Is there only one Maintenance Item or Many Items

Hi Maria

It is time key.

There is no other maintenance item under this plan.

Thank you,

Sally

Hi Sally,

Scheduling period is 3 Months ? How come the system scheduled for 1Y ?

Seeing your plan, i am not sure how are you following the scheduling process.

Hi Maria,

To my understanding, scheduling period is the time frame in which system generates order in reference to the call horizon.

So even if I changed it to 1Y, I still got 2 lines in IP10, one for 1M/2M/4M, another 1Y.

Any other idea?

Hi Sally,

Yes, you are right, changing should not have an impact.

When you schedule this plan, did you use any offset ?

Hi Maria,

NO offset for this strategy.

Hi Sally,

This is bit strange, try to create a new plan and see how it works.

I tried in my system, i am not getting the 1Y separated from the group.

Hi Maria,

I tried different plan and task list and this issue happened again.

Is there something wrong with the Strategy? Please kindly  help diagnose.

Sally
