Multiple Criteria for Analysis Prompt

Hey guys, first post so I hope I can explain exactly what I need (that I couldn't find).

We have some analysts that use BEx for reports since it allows the user to paste in multiple items to exclude from a query. When using Analysis 1.4, the Prompts window allows you to add additional lines by hitting the + sign to the right or using the 'Add Lines Using Filter by Members'. However, using that feature and copying in a list of thousands of ID numbers, it sets all those in as "=" as default. We need them to be "!=", but if you change the sign first in the drop down, it still defaults back when you add the lines in. Is there a way to exclude a long list of criteria numbers? Thanks!

With 1.4 I only see this reply from Ingo Pasting a list of values to Exclude in Prompt | SCN

Thanks Tammy, I was afraid of that. These variables change quite often for us, so it's not something we can setup in Designer. Guess we will stick with BEx for now.

HI I have the same issue as described by Brian ... Users have migrated from BEx to Analysis 2.2.  Is there a solution in 2.2 to this issue.

Hi, Tammy, just read your article on Analysis 2.3.... I noticed the new feature mentioned in the article, "Upload a list of filter values from a file"...

Do you have any more info on this feature.... will it resolve the issue described on this thread. ie can the list of values be set to != ( not equal to) at the prompt stage ( before the query is executed).

Kevin:

We may have to wait to try that when the product is GA (tentatively announced for next week
