Problem registering DP Agent

Hi,

when I try to register the SAP HANA Data Provisioning Agent to my SAP HANA DB I get the following error message:

I already tried to use the IP adress, but then the whole Agent crashes.

Additionally I opened the port 5050 on my Agent, but this changed nothing.

Do you have any other ideas?

Thanks in advance!

Best regards

    I found a solution.

We established a port forwarding in our network for the port 5050 and TCP connections.

    • Hi Sai,

we established the port forwarding rule in our company network resp. company firewall. So you should talk to your network administrator.

The problem was, that our network blocks traffic coming from outside the network when it was not established by someone from inside the network. Since you connect via port 3<SID>15 to the hana database, but the registration happens via Port 5050, the firewall detects it as a threat from outside.

Additionally it is possible that the firewall from you local laptop is doing the same thing. So maybe you have to apply the same exception to your local machine.

On HANA Server you have to enable the dpserver. Go to Administration --> Configuration --> daemon.ini --> dpserver --> instances and change the value to 1.

Our HANA Server is hosted in the cloud. If your HANA Server is located in your network, you actually should not have this kind of problem.

I hope I could help you.

      Regards,

      Scott
