InfoChart Dynamic Title, X- & Y-Axis Title

Hello!

Does anyone know if it is possible to dynamically change the title/x- & y-axis title of a InfoChart.

If it is not possible, will this be included in a next Version/Patch of Design Studio (when is this scheduled?).

Does anyone knows some kind of workaround?

Hello Jeroen,

being able to change items such as title, x-axis title, y-axis title, .... and many more using scripting is standard in our charts:

Hi Jeroen,

a work around would be not to use the x and y axis title, but to use the text component for this.

With text components you are fully flexible because you can change the value of the text in a script when needed.

Thank you for your answer.

I've tried this in the desktop version of my application and works great.

Currently I'm creating the same version but than for mobile & desktop (so everything should be dynamic). I think it should be possible to apply this workaround for the mobile version as well, but I would have to specify the screen changes in CSS (that would be my first guess and I will try it today).

It would be better to specify a name via code and it changes automatically, but that would be a feature for in the future. I hope this will be included in the next patch, since I have read before that there was not a lot of time to develop the InfoChart component.

His post says " To change the look of an Info Chart at runtime, the recommendation is to use the Info Chart Feeding Panel component."

Have you tried that?

Hi Tammy,

The Chart feeding panel is not what i'm looking for.

Currently the chart shows all the Names for every single Column in the column Chart (Actually these are the data labels of the X-Axis).

I want to give the X-Axis a title, which is the Dimension name (i.e. Site). But because when an users clicks on a column, it drill downs to the next level (i.e. Field), then the title should change to that Dimension name.

Just noticed that it is not even possible to give an Axis a title at all (probably because of the time for development SAP had for the InfoChart), which is for a regular Chart (but for the regular Chart it is not possible as well to change the title of the X-Axis. Design Studio didn't load the "Axis" additional Property properly, so it has this option, but you can't change it with code.

Jeroen - are you on the latest patch/SP? 1.6 SP1 patch 2?

No I'm not! I'm still on patch 1. Patch 2 is the version released on 29.03.2016?

If not, I can't find it on the marketplace (launchpad.support.sap.com).

I'll post some new ideas, after I upgraded to Patch 2 and my ideas are still valid.

After that I'll post some ideas for Design Studio.

Do you have any idea if and if so for when Design Studio 1.7 is scheduled?

Not sure about a 1.7

At BI2016 1.6 SP2 is planned for SAPPHIRENOW timeframe
