It depends on the amount of SP's and components involved. If you are using SUM to do the update/upgrade then the free space requirements will be provided in the SUM and EHP update guides. Typically it ranges from 50 to 200 GB. I normally consider 100 GB of space at the OS level to create/extend the tablespaces for the upgrade.

    • Hi Reagan,

Thanks you very much for your response.

Actually i want to update my support pack level ( BASIS and ABAP components) using SPAM tool. Now when i am going through prerequisites it says there should be enough space in the database and trans directory and my question is how can we know how much space in the database is exactly required to update my support pack level. please explain me the same.

      Thanks & regards,

      Bhushan
