Hide single rows

Hi all,

Is it possible to hide single rows in a query so only the result row is displayed?

Because of the formulas I can not use a hierarchy.

Thanks and regards,

TMV

If you are using a structure you can go in properties of the row and hide it.

Hope it helps.

I am using characteristics so I don't have this opportunity unfortunately.

Hi,

One option is using no display. other one going for a macro in a workbook. Lets check if your requirement can be flexible enough to make changes.

When I use no display it only hides the text and key of the rows, not the actual value.

I have also tried the "calculate single value as..." --> Suppress results. This makes all the rows "empty" but they are still displayed.

Hi everybody,

Did anybody find a solution for this issue? It is getting to be a show-stopper at our project.

Any help appreciated.

Thanks Beekay for the quick reply.

Our problem seems to be a little different:

We have a structure defined for G/L accounts (Say a Balance Sheet Account Structure):

This is how we see our Structure today:

-Assets

G/L Acc1

- G/L Acc 2

-Revenues

- G/L Acc 3

- G/L Acc 4

Total (Assets + Revenues)

- G/L Acc1

- G/L Acc2

- G/L Acc3

- G/L Acc 4

Instead we would like our structure to be displayed as

Assets

G/L Acc1

- G/L Acc 2

-Revenues

- G/L Acc 3

- G/L Acc 4

Total (Assets + Revenues)

We do not want the Total's formula line to display the accounts under.

Tried quite a few options with the standard functionality (suppressing results and single values), but it still displays the blank lines under the formula (even with zero suppression ON).

A workaround was to define a new formula as a child under every formula line (formula with just a ZERO). This got it working in BEx Analyzer..Drilldown on any characteristic does not expand/display the G/L accounts under the formula lines. But Report Designer does not recognize this concept.

Was wondering if there is a simpler/better/efficient way to get around this problem. Any thoughts around this is appreciated.

Thanks again,

Vivek

Hi,

When you are not using heirarchies it is possible to hide single rows I believe. Go ahead. I hope this will help you.
