Multi or Single Activity or Collective Macros: Which BG Job will be faster ?

Former Member

I didn't quite notice this before.. or rather didn't care to

3 Macros in a BG job. (activity)

Macro 1 - Updates KF1 using some formula based on KF2 and KF3

Macro 2 - Changes KF3 after Macro1 updates KF1

Macro 3-  Adds KF3 and KF4 to update KF5

KF = Key Figure

Which one will faster in the background ?

a) Include all 3 macros above in same BG activity in the sequence (counter) above and run a single job ?

b) Create Individual jobs and activities for each Macro and run in the sequence?

c) Include all 3 macros above in a collective macro and run this as a single job in the BG?

Selections ID for all jobs above are same

Appreciate general guidelines here.

Thanks

Lok.

Hi Lok

I don´t think you will save much time between option 1 and option 2 , but definitely if you create collective macro and run this as single job in BG would be help you. Request you to please cross check from your side and let me know if it helps you.

Thanks
