Notification message after UD

Hi All,

In my project, business require whenever UD will be done for inspection lot (it may be partially accepted or fully accepted) what ever the stock quantity moving to unrestricted stock from quality hold stock should be convey to the production manager thru mail. Means mail should be trigger to the production manager that for ex. 100 kg, material code-20001, Receiving SLOC-SLOC1 has been cleared from quality hold.

How to deal with this?

    SAP provides an example "MAIL" follow-up action. You can copy the function module behind this and modify it for your particular usage. The FM is then configured to your own "Follow-up action".

    In the selected sets for the UD's you then assign the follow-up action to each UD code you wish someone to be mail about. It is up to you to edit the FM to function with your email systems and how to select who to mail the notifications too.

    I've seen some companies maintain a Z-table of mail recipients. Others sent the mail to the MRP controller. In others, for 01 lots, they went to the planner that created the order. Some only send mail for "rejected" codes or "rework" codes. It depends on your business and business process.

    Hi Siva,

    As per standard SAP, there is nothing called 'Partial UD' to my understanding. Moreover, UD is done at the inspection lot level. Either we do stock movement based on posting proposal linked to UD code. If so, then it will do a complete stock posting will happen at UD. Or, if we post stocks partially form QA11 screen, then at that point of time, though a material movement document with MvT 321 is created at background, still the UD for the inspection lot has not happened. So, for this case, you can't really say this is a 'partial UD'....

    Now coming back to your main question, whatever is the stock posting happening with MvT 321, you wish to send out a email to your production manager. Well, you can work with your ABAP team to check if there is any relevant FM available under the below exits, which can trigger emails, with your business logic:

    MBCF0005 => Material document item for goods receipt/issue slip

    MBCF0002 => Customer function exit: Segment text in material doc. item

    In normal case, had you tried to send email after UD, you could have used Follow-up actions, linked to UD code, to send email. As you wish to do it even without applying UD code, you can try the proposed User Exits.
