Delay while Inserting Data source in AO 2.2

Former Member

Hi,

Did anyone experienced delay with "Insert data source" in AO 2.2?

We are having delay of approx. 15sec with AO 2.2, whereas in AO 1.4 it was instantaneous.

We have this problem when accessing the Analysis Add-In from Excel.

However we don't have this delay with 'Analysis for Excel' from program folder, but this method takes 15secs for the Analysis splash screen to go away.

Please advice if anyone have an idea about it.

Thanks,

Reshma M.

I'm not experiencing this; which version of Excel are you using?  I am using Excel 2016

Am using 2010 and tested on 2010 and 2013. Both versions have the same issue.

Thank you Tammy Powlas!

We have already tried capturing it , but no are lines are created in XML when we click on Inserting data source (which displays history and option to select data source)

Hello Reshma  - one more idea - what about doing another trace using RSTT described here? Analysis for Office Result Limit and Memory Consumption - SAP NetWeaver Business Warehouse - SCN Wik...

Hi,

Just observed that the delay is not specific to 'Insert data source', but to the first action we execute on Analysis tab. This is because the full AO add-in does not load until the user starts any AO function from the Analysis ribbon, or even from the Analysis area of the File Tab. The 1st attempt at an AO functionality will have a delay of approx. 15 -20 seconds while it loads AO. We also have the delay happen when Excel starts by starting it directly from the Program folder within the Start button. It will have the same delay, while showing the splash screen.

any idea about it?

Thanks,

Reshma M.
