Fiori client 1.6.2 cannot connect to Gateway


When using the SAP Fiori Client 1.6.2 on Android 6.0.2 (on Samsung S7)

trying to connect to Fiori URL on the Gateway system we receive message as below:

"The URL cannot be reached." Please check the URL and make sure you have a network connection.

The URL works on:

  • Chrome Browser (on same Android device)
  • Desktop
  • Fiori Client on iOS
  • SAP Fiori Client 1.6. 2 on an Android 4.2 device.

Connection to the Netweaver Gateway System is via Web Dispatcher and SAML2 authentication is configured using ADFS.

The same error occurs when SAML2 is NOT configured.

Has anyone met this situation before?
