Eclipse or SAP Web IDE

Hello, in my research about OpenUI5 i found that both Eclipse and SAP Web IDE works well, so my  question is Which one should i use?, i'm familiar with eclipse and the SAP Web IDE looks very frendly to me, but since i'm new with OpenUI5 i really want to learn it the best way i can, i also can use the old way (with notepad++ and Lots of coding ) but i'm not really a web developer myself, mostly of my coding was made in some IDE (from devcpp to visual studio and codeblocks) so i really want to use some IDE, well that's all.  Have a nice day everyone.

Hi Jose,

SAP Web IDE is the tool recommended by SAP for UI5 development. But the only problem is ,it's available for free only for 90 days unless your are SAP employee or partner.

Whereas Eclipse is free to use with all the features but it is no longer supported by SAP, so in future there can be some sort of compatibility issues in your Fiori app once it is deployed.

So my final verdict is go with SAP Web IDE if you can get the licence ,else use Eclipse as it has all the same features and functionalities (even more easier to use )

Thanks Devaarth, i think i'll go with eclipse, because there are some burocratic issues in my company so by the time i have full access to the web IDE (if i really get access someday) i have done the job with eclipse, thanks again for the advise

What? 90 days? Where have you read it?

Free account (trial) account is perpetual , that means it never expires.
