How to activate all objects of EPM Demo?

Hi guys,

I just want to ask how to activate the E-Procurement Management Modell (NW Demo EPM) - 0D_NW_DEMO_EPM INFOAREA?

I'm currently using SAP BW 7.4 SP12 on HANA..

Also, how can I load data on the providers of EPM?

I tried to activate all the objects under 0D_NW_DEMO_EPM infoarea but some of the providers and all masterdata objects don't have transformations,datasources,and infopackages..

How can I get them? Do I still need to do something?

Hi,

I've never used the EPM Model, but searching on the internet I've found the transaction SEPM_DG that seems to generate data for this model, but there's no mention to BW Datasources anywhere.

What I've used is the demo for the OLAP Analytic featutes, it's activated and data generated in BW system using transaction RSFC.

Thanks for the transaction SEPM_DG..I will try to use it..

OLAP analytic features? Is it the InfoProvider Demo Analytic Engine 0RSFC_AE_DEMO infoarea? Do you know why I can't activate new infoproviders like ADSO, COMPOSITE PROVIDER, etc? I can't also locate them in the EPM or ANALYTIC ENGINE demo..

Hi,

Yes, that is the InfoArea (0RSFC_AE_DEMO) and there is also another one (0D_NW_DEMO) whose data is also generated in transaction RSFC.

I don't know if these demos, or another ones of similar kind, are avaliable for the new types of InfoProviders (no HANA on my side, yet).

The only HANA "demo" I'm aware of is SHINE, but it's tailored to application development for SAP HANA XS Engine.

I am performing similar activity and encountered this discussion. Thanks for the info so far.

In my case, I have activated all the objects within the 0D_NW_DEMO_EPM infoarea. All the objects can now be seen in RSA1, no worries till here.

Further, I have executed above steps SEPM_DG to generate data for the EPM model. The job ran successfully, but I could neither see any master data for Business Partners or Product ID generated, nor any transaction data in the infocubes within EPM infoarea.

Can you please guide me.

I am having the same problem.

For DSOs 0EPM_DS* I don't get the transformations from datasource side.

Do you still have the same problem?

As it is demo content for HANA (course at open.sap.com) it should be available with BW as myself system.

data sources, and transformations are all in BI CONTENT.

what you have to do is, go to the BI Content area, and instead of Display->Hierarchy, use Display->List. you will now see all the transformations and Data Sources.

add them all, then you will see the DataSources under your own system.

not all the objects had transformations or datasources.

on the right hand side, of your image, i can see the transformation icon, along with many others. there you have to select "install all below"

also, you do not need an ECC system. data is in BW and the extractors can point to "myself" system, which is the BW system you are already in

What I mean by how to load is, what will be the datasource of EPM demo? Is it ECC or the BW itself? Since it's a DEMO, where will the data come from?

About activation, as I have said, I already activated all objects under the 0D_NW_DEMO_EPM infoarea in BI content..However, some transformations are NOT present as well as the datasource to be used..That's why in my screen above, the DSOs and masterdata objects don't have transformations..

Did you guys already try to activate all the objects under the EPM demo?

It's been (quite) a while since I played with this, but I think I activated the same "demo" content on ECC first. This actually "replaces"  the FLIGHT scenario (not really as that scenario still exists as well, but it's the "new" scenario to use) they used back in the days...

Thanks for your reply..So ECC is really required here? Because I don't have access in the ECC side..

Anyway, I will try to ask and check in ECC dev if I can find the EPM demo sources..

Hi Loed,

You can go to RSORBCT transaction (business content) and in that you can select option like "infoprovider by infoarea" from the left side.

use find option on newly changed section to find the infoarea (in your case :- 0D_NW_DEMO_EPM)

Collect your infoarea and drag and drop it to right side window.

On top of that window you can select install option.

It will basically install whatever content comes under that infoarea and all content will be in activated state.

And to load data, you will have first load data into datasource thru infopackage and then to infoproviders thru DTP.

Hi Loed,

If you want to use standard transformations for attribute data source and text data source then you have to install the transformation through business content.

suppose your attribute data source is 0equipment_attr then go to business content go transformation give your attributes data source then you will find the target for that.so select the data target drag drop into collect object panel then maintain necessary setting then install it.

now go to modeling check it.

do it same procedure for text data source also.
