    Hi

I would troubleshoot in below order

-->does SAP application be able to connect to the database? you can check this by launching config tool

--> has the system ever been started successfully? if so, this would rule out the permission or role related.

--> check dev_server0 file and see the first exception. if you dont fin much then check the application and default traces

For example, the error first complained about the guest ID, but it's there:

    1> use master

    2> go

    1> sp_dropuser guest

    2> go

    Msg 17544, Level 16, State 1:

    Server 'DJ1', Procedure 'sp_dropuser', Line 229:

You cannot drop the 'guest' user from master database or a temporary database.

    (return status = 1)

    1> sp_displaylogin

    2> go

    Suid: 4

    Loginame: sapsa

    Fullname:

    Default Database: saptools

    Default Language: us_english

    (return status = 0)

    1> sp_displaylogin gusts^H^H

    2> go

    (return status = 1)

    1> sp_displaylogin guest

This is a new system running well for 1 week plus, then started to have this.

My problem is that I cannot find the guest ID.

At the same time I cannot create or drop GUEST, see previous post.

I cannot grant any to GUEST either.

      Thanks!!

      1> use master

      2> go

1> grant role sa_role to guest

      2> go

      Msg 11105, Level 16, State 3:
