Custom properties in IDT

HI Experts,

I  am just wondering what is the purpose of custom properties in IDT (Business layer properties).

is it a condition?

if i add any custom property how it will get effect in reports

Hi Varun,

The custom properties are available for internal use only and aren’t passed to the BI clients. The objective of custom properties is to let partners, OEMs, and customers add documentation or any valuable information to the objects.

With the Semantic Layer Java SDK, you can add/edit/remove custom properties, so it lets you do anything you want with those custom properties.

Custom properties should be made available to reports. This is a worthless feature as is.

Why does SAP make it so difficult to create a request for a new feature? I guess ideas.sap.com wasn't painful enough that they had to create the monstrosity that is influence.sap.com.
