The "SAP HANA Server Platform SPS 11 installation guide" describes that some SAP HANA features support Intel-based hardware platform only.  I am wondering if we plan to install a SAP HANA system on IBM Power Linux platform, is the Intel-based hardware platform must be prepared for this system?

Below list including the SAP HANA features support Intel-based hardware platform only:

SAP HANA SPARK Controller

SAP HANA Hadoop Controller

SAP HANA Remote Data Sync

SAP HANA Smart Data Streaming

SAP HANA Ambari Cockpit

SAP HANA Data Provisioning Agent

SAP HANA Information Composer

SAP HANA Accelerator for SAP ASE

Hi Eric,

If you want to use the above HANA features\capability\options, you have to build on Intel-based hardware.

Dear Ning,

Thank you for your quick response.

Will these HANA features\capability\options be enabled in SAP HANA system on IBM Power Linux?

If yes, is any schedule planned?

BTW, these features seems be important in Big Data and Cloud computing.  Isn’t it?

Best Regards,

Eric

Hi Eric,

this may, but does not have to be, a competitive issue as Bluemix is also platform for some of the features listed above.

i'm not aware of any Intel's cloud or database go-to-market offerings.

thx, greg
