How to activate in CO-PA new fields of Product Hierarchy (PRODH) structure

Dear SAP Users,

I am redefining the standard product hierarchy structure, changing the lenght of the third field and including a new field at the end.  In SE11 transaction I defined and activated the new structure as follows:

PRODH1          CHAR     5

PRODH2          CHAR     5

ZZPRODH3     CHAR     5

ZZPRODH4     CHAR     3

But, those changes are not reflecting in COPA set of characteristics, since, PRODH3 standard field is giving error message ("Product Hierarchy field PAPH3 cannot be adapted to the new structure") and the new ZZ fields are not being showed in the standard characteristics list, in order to use them.

Could you give me the tips or steps for including new PRODH structure fields as CO-PA characteristics.

Hi Marcos

Did you create a new WWXXX char in Copa and include in your Operating concern? If not, do that

You will then have to add a derivation rule to derive the fourth one and also modify the existing derivation rules to derive paph1 to paph3

Thanks for your suggestions.  I tried to create a new WWXXX char based on MVKE table like PAPH1, PAPH2 or PAPH3 chars but how I could not find PAPH4 field, I thought I have to do another configuration previously. That new WWXXX char should be created as user defined char?

Regarding derivation rules I have configured step types "Move" as follows:

Source field     CO-PA     PRODH

Target field     CO-PA     PAPHx

Moving the corresponding portion of PRODH field to each PAPHx field. Is it the correct derivation rule?

Hi

You won't find PAPH4. The WWXXX (user defined) will act as Paph4

Your derivation rule is correct

My apologies for not giving a feedback on time.

Unfortunately, I have not been succesful with this configuration. Now I am trying to use the standard components PRODHx in PRODHS structure, as follows:

PRODH1     char 5

PRODH2     char 5

PRODH3     char 5

PRODH4     char 3

PRODHS structure was activated, MVKE table was activated, CExxxxx tables were adjusted with SE14 transaction, but those components are not available e as characteristics in KEA5 configuration and MVKE (PAPH1, PAPH2, PAPH3) I cannot find them anymore in COPA.

What others steps I need to do in order to enable all four PRODHS fields as characteristics in KEA5 transaction?

Nevertheless, you create WWXXX Chars and add a derivation rule to derive the same
