If we configure our BW on HANA System as a Multitenant database, would we lose out on the feature to read HANA virtual tables from hadoop configured through Smart data access? The below note mentions that the only solve is to use a single DB setup.
2182597 - HANA Virtual table function does not work on multitenant databases
Any information will be helpful and if there are plans from SAP to support multitenant DB setup systems to read HANA virtual tables in the future.
Thanks.
Hi Sundeep,
Have exactly the same questions. Did you ever found out in this regard?
Thanks a lot for your feedback.
Cheers,
Sander.

Sander,
The virtual table "functions" are not supported but the Virtual tables itself that that can be configured through the Smart Data access do not have an issue being read in the HANA environment. For example, if you want to create new user defined functions against Hadoop / HDFS using the SQL interface that execute as mapreduce jobs in the HDFS environment, you won't be able to to perform it in a Multitenant setup.
Hope this helps. The link below contains more information on the virtual functions through SDA.
thank you,
Sundeep
