Extended Financial Period with Budget

Hi

Client changed their fiscal year end from July to December.

Fiscal year 2016 therefore was 18 months. broken into 2 posting periods.6 months and 12 months.

When entering the budget for the 2nd posting period of fiscal year 2016, it asks to first delete the previous posting period budget first.

i'm guessing this is due to it having the same fiscal year???

is there any way around this?
