Hi,
In a PCoE scenario, where a certified partner is in charge of a customer's system (lvl 1 and 2 support, and SAP lvl 3), the partner's Solman needs to be connected to a client's.
How do you configure Solution Manager to connect it to a customer's system ? During my research I've stumbled across SAProute, but is there a parameter to tell Solman to specifically monitor that remote system ?
If I were to summarize it briefly : "Hey, solman, we have installed SAProute at client A, now how do you connect to it ?"
Hello Dimitri,
Connection path from customer to VAR SLM should be:
Customer_SystemA -> Customer_SAPRouter --> VAR_SAPRouter -> VAR_SLM
Connection path from VAR SLM to customer should just be the opposite.
To register customer system into SLD of VAR SLM, you should input the SAProuter connection string into host field.
And during RFC connection from SLM to customer system, you should also input the connection information with SAPRouter connection string. For more information about this, please check RFC Client Program and SAProuter - Connectivity - SAP Library
Regards,
Ning Tong

Hi, thanks for the answer and sorry for the late reply.
This may seems like an odd question, but how does SAProute actually work ?
I thought I had to install SAProuter on the customer which will link it to SAP and install it at the VAR who will be linked to SAP.
SAP will the be the router, so when I want to communicate ith the customer, it will go from the VAR SLM to SAP and then SAP routes it to customer SLM
Also, can SAProute be installed on the same host as solution manager ?
I drew this scheme, is it accurate then ?
So I took some extra time and a friend manage to explain me SAProuter and I had a wrong understanding of things.
If I understood correctly :
SAProuter is kind of an enhanced firewall, with special SAP dedicated function (like remote control). To link two system , you either need a IPSec VPN OR SCN (with SCN, you don't need extra hardware).
