To deactivate field SCRAP posting after UD

Dear Pundits,

Please help me out.

Client wants to deactivate the field  RQEVA-VMENGE02 (SCRAP Posting) in Usage decision.Can this be done by functional personnel if YES?? If not what specification should i give to ABAP personnel to help her understand the requirement??

Use T code OQFA and enter the module pool as SAPMQEVA. Go to Modifiable and choose the field and mark it for Hidden.

But yes, you got to take care of the points raised since this will impact all the plant. This is a client level setting, not plant specific.

Sorry, that I could not suggest you with 'Deleting' the Scrap posting option upfront form the config itself, as that option may be the LAST OPTION to exercise. As I said earlier, there are various ways to fix such issues, and instead of doing this, I would rather prefer blocking with authorization, even if that is a authorization fix.

Sorry, I beg to differ here with Craig too, as without knowing what is the business process/setup other plants doing for stock posting, simply removing this may impact other plants for posting to scrap, as there are no control at plant level for this config node. Better would be to 'force' users not to use the 'Inspection Lot Stock' tab, to manually control the posting, and you can deactivate the posting proposal for your plant for scrap in QS51...

Again, this is just my thoughts and may not be fully agreeable, but it's better to discuss with business before you can think of deleting the SCRAP specific entry form config.

You do bring up a very valid point Arijit.  The config is not plant specific and there might be a problem in a larger implementation with several plants.  You are very right in questioning the advice I gave.

yes it can be done by configuration level settings in SPRO.

follow the bellow steps,

go to SPRO - Quality Management - Quality inspection - inspection lot completion - Define inventory posting

here select the SCRAP field and take the delete option.

once it is deleted then it will not display in usage decision screen.

Hi Satwik,

There can be several ways to bell a cat. One of the useful and commonly used mechanism is to block it using authorization control for MvT 551. I think this part is explained in previous response.

There can be another tricky way of using Transaction variant for QA11, where you can remove the tab 'Inspection Lot Stock' and use UD code linked stock posting as a standard process, where the stock posting proposal should be activated at background. You can get some hints form the below thread -

There could be another way to use a combination of both authorization control as well as transaction variant, so that it will secure a preferred set of users form not using scrapping process at all.

A transaction variant can be created by functional or ABAP team. You can check a below document for better understanding -

If you wish to block it using authorization check, you first have to work with Security team to use the auth objects, and then adopt it using ABAP help.

According to your query first of all you have to clear all inspection lot from quality means in quality there is pending inspection lot remains in quality, After that only basis guy can revoke authorization of movement type 551-556 from given authorization objects in each role for specific user you want to unauthorized.
