Item Versions

Hi All,

I create a Item with a External ID say ABC001, when I take a snapshot version of the same and check the version, then item number within version is shown as internal system number. Is this standard behavior? or if not, how do I get the Item number in version snap shot?

Am I missing anything?

Hello Stephen

Take a look at : Override Global Settings AREA 0002 and NAME 0011 (Activate Number generation for Item/Initiative version) and switch this on

Then goto customising : Portfolio Independent Settings -> Define Number ranges for Portfolio Management Items. Read the help on this to find the relevant object (IV for Item version). Here you can define the number range

What you seeing at the moment is "standard" for PPM 5 - i.e. you will get an internal number unless you switch this numbering on and define your own range

Hello Chatsworth,

I have the issue. I followed your useful indication but problem is that, in my case, item ID is set manually when i create item. I would like to have the same ID for the Item whithin a version.
