Time zone settings in SMP

Dear All,

I would like to know about the time zone settings we make in the SMP server. We have applied in the system but the concept still confuses me when there are multiple time zones involved.

Suppose my

SAP system is (UTC+4) Abu Dhabi, Muscat

SMP server is (UTC-3.00) Brasilia

Client is (UTC+5.30)Chennai, Kolkata, Mumbai, New Delhi

So what time should I mention in the Time Zone Name and what time I must mention in the Time zone Alias

Its always a confusion that we must give time zone name as SAP 's or the client time.

Please guide

Thanks and Regards

The Timezone line of the Java section needs to be set to: (UTC+4) Abu Dhabi, Muscat
The Timezone Alas section would need to be (UTC+5.30)Chennai, Kolkata, Mumbai, New Delhi.

Note the timezone alas section needs to be set to the format like:
<Time zone name that shows in the Events.log file>=<Name of timezone how it shown on the sever>

Set Up Time Zone Alias in Agentry.ini Configuration File - SAP Mobility - SCN Wiki

Hi Stephen,

Thanks a lot. This means that we only have to keep the client and SAP server time zone in sync.

Many Thanks

Neha
