SAP Netweaver installation issue

Hi Team,

We are installing SAP IDM 7.2 user interface but currently got stuck in installation of netweaver.

As per Pre-requisite, there should be one application server installed.

Few things to know.

1. Can we install SAP Netweaver Application server ABAP or we need SAP Netweaver AS Java?

2. When i am trying to download SAP Netweaver 7.4, it pops up with below mentioned files, which really confused me which one to download?.

I am selecting windows and MaxDB.

Hello Rosy,

the Identity Management guides should show whether ABAP or Java is needed.

For example, based on this help.sap.com link it seems Java will be needed.

About the NetWeaver components: the NetWeaver Master- and Installation guides should help which components will be needed.

For example, the "Presentation" packages should be only related for frontend access (e.g. SAPGUI, SAPPDFPrint, etc.). It doesn't look like they will be needed during the NetWeaver installation process (of course, e.g. SAPGUI will be needed later to actually access the R/3 system).
