SAP IBP Optimizer Performance

Former Member

Hi, experts

I would like to know about performance between SAP systems: "SAP APO Optimizer" x "SAP IBP Optimizer"(IBP for Response and Supply), because it will be a key Point Decision for a particular customer to migrate the current APO optimizer system to IBP for Supply.

IBP and APO Equivalences Assumptions: Considering that in both cases we don´t have server constraints, APO and IBP Application are using the appropiated Best-Practices and in both system we are considering the same business context

How could i provide a number of performance improvement comparing these two systems?

For example: SAP IBP is "x%" faster than the same SAP APO system

Thanks!

FM

Hello Fabio,

the APO SNP Optimizer and the IBP S&OP Optimizer are very comparable concerning performance. In fact they share some coding parts.

So if you model identical scenarios in APO SNP and IBP S&OP, you should experience quite similar performance numbers during optimization.

Kind regards,

Carsten

Thanks! Carsten.

I was thinking if IBP S&OP "Optimizer" is only Time Serie, it will be an advantage to improve performance in comparison to SAP SNP Optimizer (Livecache Orders).

Thanks!

Hello Fabio,

you're right. The time-series data reduces the demand-side, but the decisions inside the supply chain are in the majority the same.

Cheers, Carsten
