Vehicle masterdata used in shipment VT01N

Hi All,

I am currently working with creating shipments using transaction VT01N, just wanted to enquire if there was masterdata available to populate different vehicles used in shipmemt from the service agent

I know the vehicle ID information  can be entered directly in the processing tab under External ID 1but just wandered if this masterdata is maintained anywhere else

If you use DSD you have the option to enter vehicle in VT* transaction in VTTK-/BEV1/RPMOWA1.

In IE02 you get a DSD tab, where you can specify if the truck is own or external as well and you can use it to filter out trucks based on this criteria. Later this data is also copied to RADB after additional checks are run.

I am not aware of a standard transaction to map a specific FM vehicle to a forwarding agent, that you can use during shipment creation to filter out vehicles. We used a specific add-on for transportation planning and optimization, which had a similar functionality and we had some additional developments on top of that.

Hi All,

we have received an extra requirement from the business, they have requested that when'' planning'' status has been flagged in VT01N when creating a shipment, it should not be possible to make  Changes in  the delivery document

Is this possible? I know when ''shipment starts'' status has been flagged in VT01N, then the delivery document will be greyed out

Can this be controlled by configuration?

How will then the users pick the goods and post goods issue?

Speak with the business and determine what they actually want to achieve.

Also what exactly they want to restrict - should this include add/change outputs?

Thanks for your Quick response, In our customer legacy system, they have a vehicle masterdata where they store information about the different trucks used in the bulk process, total weight, volumes, they need all this information for tracking purposes, so basically if different shipments are created and they want to search by vehicle used for transportation, they could perform a search criteria with the truck ID

We are working on mapping this requirement in SAP, we do not have the DSD functionality switched on but i am aware of its functions

Can this be achieved by standard SAP functionality or do  we have to switch on the DSD to fullfill the requirements

DSD on its own would not help you if your aim is also to perform additional validations on truck load optimization. For VSO functionality you need external algorithms anyway.

But if you simply need to maintain weight/volume for trucks and use this for some form of reporting, there is the Fleet maintenance as a part of PM, which has such data.

Have a look at transaction IE36, probably this is what you are looking for.

What master data do you want to maintain for vehicles? We can maintain vehicles as a drop down list F4 which you are already aware of. Apart from this I don't see any other master data for vehicles. If you explain in details what other information is needed to be maintained in vehicle master data, we may give some other suggestion.
