How to delete table entries with SE16 in debugging mode?

Former Member

We are trying to delete some table entries which cause our InfoPackage short dumps. The problem is that we can only see the Display menu item with SE16 and the Delete menu item is dimmed that we are unable to conduct the deletion. SAP Support suggest to use debug with SE16 to do the deletion, but we can't figure out how!

Anyone's idea is greatly appreciated!

hi Kevin,

the other way you can ask basis to 'open' the table a while for deletion, se11 tab 'delivery and maintenance', set with 'display/maintenance is allowed'. after deleting the data, set the table back to prior settings.

or can you specify the oss note / sap support suggest ?

hope this helps.

hi AHP,

We have already tried tab 'delivery and maintenance', set with 'display/maintenance is allowed', but the Delete menu item is still dimmed.

Thanks

Normally it is not suggested..since SAP suggested to do this.. the following steps can help you..

1) Select the entry in SE16

2) /h and enter

and click on Display

3) F7 twice

4) Now you can see the Fcode in show or display made..

5) now change this to 'DELE' save it and execute

now you should be able to delete..

hope it helps..

regards,

hari

We tried this to delete delivery addresses with address group "ME02" from Table ADRC. The record said the address nunumber was deleted, but it was not. We also changed table "TSAD7" for ME02 so it could be direct maintenance. I then used SADR transaction to try to delete the ME02 delivery addresses, but it doesn’t work. It gives an error message ‘Internal error - address can not be deleted’. Message no. AM878. Is there something we are overlooking. We are on version 6.20 (4.7).
