Links of Database Expert (ODBC)

Hi Everyone,

I have in my computer CR with a report that is used in another machine (i'm connected to it using a VPN connection). When I go to the database expert, because i want to add another table, and choose the ODBC source, the login doesn't work. I have the following message: "IM002: Datasource name not found." I notice that after i click ok on the message that appears, in the list of connections appear's a new one. Example: i tried to connect to ABCD, and after clicking ok, in the connections list appear ABCD_1, and so on. Why is that? Should I delete these connections? By the way, it's a SQL DB, and in the server i went to the ODBC Data source Admin and the connection "ABCD" exists.

Thanks in advance!

    Hi Joana,

Does the ABCD DSN exist on your machine as well?

If it doesn't, you'd need to create a 32-bit ODBC DSN pointing to the SQL Database.

Also, you may ignore the _1 suffix to the connection name. CR stores your most recently used connections and any similarly named connections are added with an _xx.
