Hi All,

I have a need where I'm running and existing Work Manager 6.2 application using the Notifications from SAP. I now need to enhance this application to talk to another 3rd party system via a web service be it stand alone or registered as a ODATA service.

Which will be the correct way, can I use the HTTP/XML or ODATA connector within the Agentry application or would I need to do this in the Java code?

This call must not happen with the normal Sync, this needs to run as a separate call when saving an action.

If the requirement is to call it during a save action then the answer is none of the above. Java code only executes during backend step processing as do HTTP/XML and OData backend steps. If you need to execute during the action I would suggest looking at the Open URL action step to make the call to send data to it. If you need to retreive data from it you will need to utilize a transmit or an Open UI control.

Hi Bill,

Thanks for your answer, I don't need to retrieve data I only need to submit 10 fields on a asynchronous SOAP web service call can Open URL do this?

As long as you can format it as a URL call yes it should work and assuming your device has coverage when the action is executed.
