Hi,
Our client asked us to is remove the checkmark for “Incl. Dependent Requirements” in configuration of "Availability Check Control" OPJJ( Availability Check +Checking Rule),
I had removed the configuration as requested by client.
I want to know the exact impact of this configuration change and i would like to do testing to know what has changed after removal of check mark for "Incl of Dependent Requirements".
Appreciate if any expert give me some suggestions/inputs to do testing of this config change.
Thanks in advance.
Aditya,
Dependent requirements are those requirements that are generated from a planned order. The planned order is against the parent material in the BOM, the Dependent requirements that are generated for this planned order are for the child materials in the BOM.
When you perform an availability check, you have the option of considering (or not considering) these dependent requirements when you are asking the system to calculate the ATP quantity.
For testing, I think the method is obvious. Set up a test scenario where there are dependent requirements. Ensure that the ATP quantity that is calculated during Availability reflects the fact that the dependent requirements are being ignored.
If I were the project manager for a project, and it became evident that the client had instructed one of the consultants to change a configuration, and it was also evident that the consultant did not understand the impact of the change, I would find that very troubling. Those are usually symptoms of a project that is falling out of control; the wrong people are responsible for the wrong project tasks. Clients who are technically competent, or worse, who THINK they are technically competent, can be very difficult to manage.
If I were you, I would ensure that the change that was requested is properly documented, and that the project manager is given the opportunity to determine if the change is within the scope of the project/contract.
Best Regards,

Hi Aditya,
for example - you are producing one fg material and for that you check the availability of the components, now assume that the same components are used in other fg material and have the dependent requirements for the other orders too.
in short one componets in different different orders. now when you check the availability of that components - you can decide whether to consider the other dependent req or not.
hope this helps
regards,
Solomon
