Assign new workspace to group failure

Hi Everyone,

I have created a new workspace and saved it in a public folder. Now I want my user group called "Read" to have access to this new workspace. To do this I went to CMC, right-click, BI launch pad preferences and selected the new workspace to be the default homepage.

The problem is that when I log in as a user who is in this "Read" group the new workspace is not shown, but I'm shown the default workspace.

I also checked that the "Read" group has access to the public folder where I saved the workspace.

I'm using SAP BusinessObjects BI Platform 4.1 Support Pack 7.

Thank you.

Hi Viktoria,

Go to BI Launch Pad

BI Launchpad preferences changed to land in Documents>Folders>new work space

After change the land document , whenever you open the BI Launchpad Documents , Bydefault the New work space folder highlighted  automatically.

Regards,

Ravi.

Hi Victoria,

Try to assign explicit "View Object" right to the "Read" group on the newly created workspace. As you mentioned, the "Read" group has access to the public folder where the new workspace is saved; may be the rights are conflicting in between.

So, try the below steps:

- Browse to the location (folder) where the new workspace is saved.

- Right click > User Security > Select "Read" group > Assign Security > Advanced > Add/Remove Rights.

- Grant "View objects" right.

- Uncheck "Inherit from Parent Folder" and "Inherit from Parent Group" to break inheritance.

- Click on Apply and OK.

- Try to login to BI Launchpad with one of the user from "Read" group.

- The user should now be able to see the new workspace as home tab.

Let me know if this works.
