Solution Manager Custom Code Management Configuration Issue

Hi Everyone,

This Post is related to a configuration/setup issue with Custom Code Management in our Production Solution Manager System for Managed System Development ECC.

From Solman_Setup screen I am navigating to Custom Code Management Section.

In the first step I am getting the Managing System Preparation Step where I need to technically prepare the SAP Business Information Warehouse (BW) infrastructure for the Custom Code Management scenario. The infrastructure enables all kinds of data providers in the Business Intelligence (BI) client of SAP Solution Manager.

Now the thing is there are two Important Users SOLMAN_BTC and SM_BW_ACT users which needs to be properly setup as per the System Preparation and Basic Configuration sections.


On the other hand This Production Solution Manager Client on which I am working is the CUA (Central User Administration Client).


I am attaching the screenshot of the first step to have a better idea.

Now I am mentioning the relevant error message with respect to that two users which I have faced and also the options that I tried.

1. User SOLMAN_BTC does not exist where as I have checked the Solution Manager System Solman_BTC does exist.

Checked the Option "Accept Manually Created Users Without Checking Role Assignments". Current Status is Green for that Specific User.

2. For User SM_BW_ACT: Create user SM_BW_ACT in the Create Users step of Basic Configuration

I have visited the Create User Step and Successfully Created SM_BW_ACT : User SM_BW_ACT exists with recommended roles

But Right now I am only getting Error Symbol with nothing much written in the Log of the CCLM Setup Steps

Can you anyone kindly suggest or throw some light. I am suspecting but not to sure if this scenario is being caused due to CUA configuration.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi Anurag,

    System Preparation, Basic Configuration steps needs to be configured properly. All these users gets created (roles updated/adjusted) during these steps itself. Even if this system is your CUA Administrator Client you need these users to be created with proper authorization.

    I will advise first to configure your Solution Manager system properly for System Preparation & Basic Configuration steps. Then configure your ECC system with Managed system steps and then perform this Custom Code configuration.

    Also it seems you are using your own userid to configure these steps. Do your userid have all proper authorization (equivalent to SOLMAN_ADMIN)?

      Thanks for the Suggestion. I have finally realized that in our Landscape I should have used Client 100 and not the CUA client 200 ℹ️.Tthat's where the confusion occurred. I have finally sorted out the first step.
