Activating Extractor

Hi,

How do I activate an extractor for the datasource 0EC_PCA_3

Is there a way I can replicate only one datasource from source system instead of replicating all ??

Thanks

Fran

Hi Fran,

You can activate the datasource through transaction RSA5. Open up the tree and place your cursor on the topmost node and search for the required datasource. Then click on Transfer Datasources.

You can replicate the datasource in BW instead of pulling in the entire list of datasources by going to RSA1 > Source systems > double click on your source system and navigate to the application component that holds your activated datasource. Right click this and choose Replicate Datasources.

Hope this helps...

Thanks Bhanu,

One other question: If an extractor is pulling data in RSA3 , does that mean that its active ???

Thanks

Yes, that's right. It would be active if you can use it in RSA3 to test extraction.

Hope this helps...

Thanks,

Actually one other question also...

How can I check when it was replicated last?

Actually i'm not even sure if its the short dump.

in monitor, under details, everything is green.

But under status tab, it shows red. Msg doesnt specifically say about short dump, it just says its taking a long time.

Cant understand whts going on

thanks

Check the REQU....job in the Source system in SM37 to see if it is still running.

Thanks

Actually it worked...i guess it had just turned red for some reason while the process was running.

Data came through.

Thanks

That does happen with long running loads...the display turns red, but actually it is still running. In such a case it is good to check the extraction job in the source to see whether it is running...
