Hi Mates,

I am planning to do remote client copy from PRD to QAS. However i need some clarifications regarding this.

Last time when i did client copy i had not stopped the background jobs in the target client and with sap_appl from PRD to QAS the client copy was successful.  However i could see some background jobs getting cancelled after that and i don't know the reason for that even now. So i am planning to stop the background jobs this time before client copy  and do which has been explained in the following link.

All About Client Copy – Local,Remote, Import/Export. Using program BTCTRNS1. But will be able to start all the stopped background jobs without rescheduling them and if yes how. And i also want to know if we have to stop the background jobs of source system. Should we use only sap* for this process.

Please do help.

Regards,

Adarsh

Hi Adarsh

You can restart the background jobs using program BTCTRNS2, exactly in way they were stopped by BTCTRNS1. You don't have to stop background jobs on the source system. Use a user-id which is a copy of SAP* or ddic.

Thanks

Hi Adarsh,

Consider these before remote client copy:

  1. Check whether business function is activated if its requested before client copy
  2. Disconnect and lock business users(SU10).
  3. Suspend all background jobs
  4. System must have enough space in the database or table space .
  5. users should not be allowed to work in source client.
