Hi Team ,
We are facing opendocument issue with lumira applications .
In our environment we have 2 app servers (but default Tomcat is running) and 2 webservers (Tomcat) . Load balancer is configured on webservers.
opendocument is configured in CMC based on appserver1 . This is working for webi and other applications .(because of default Tomcat in application servers)
when I try to get the document link / opendoc link for lumira and run it is throwing HTTP 404 error.
we suspect since the web application content files are installed in web servers , the files related to opendoc are not updated in app server .So that opendoc is not working with application server url.
In short http://appserver1:8080/BOE/.. is configured in CMC - it is working for all applications opendocs except Lumira .
we know by changing opendoc URL to use load balancer URL it works . But wanted to know the reasons .
Thank you.
So the community can help you better, please provide your version of Lumira and version of the BI platform

Hello Sateesh,
As you mentioned you have 2 appservers and 2 webservers, can you please let us know if you have Tomcat only on the webservers, or on appservers as well?
The OpenDocument component is part of the BOE web application, so normally the OpenDoc URL prefix you see in CMC -> Application should use the hostname of your Tomcat server, not the appserver where CMS is hosted. This is why i'm curious to know why the OpenDoc URL prefix is set to "http://appserver:8080/BOE/OpenDoc.../", rather than "http://webserver:8080/BOE/OpenDoc.../". A quick test would be to change the URL prefix to the latter, and see if it works.
Let me know if you have any questions.
Regards,
Alan
Hi Alan ,
Thanks for reply .
We have Tomcat running in the app servers as well , because of this we are able to hit with app server URL for opendocs .
we tried with load balancer and web server URL's , they are working.
I'm curious to know why for lumira it is not working and for other tools it is working .
Thank you.
Hi Han ,
Sorry for confusions.
we have tomcat running in app servers as well , but we didn't installed web components of Lumira in app server .
The Lumira web components are installed in web servers where Tomcats are running stand alone .
we have load balancer configured on the Tomcats which are running in web servers.
Please let me know in case the information not sound clear .
Thank you.
Hi Sateesh,
Thanks for clarification.
I think the root cause of the Lumira OpenDoc issue is that currently your OpenDoc base URL is using "http://appserver/BOE/OpenDoc/...", however, the Tomcat on appserver does not have Lumira web application installed, hence the Lumira OpenDoc (which is part of Lumira web apps) URL is not working.
As you mentioned before, if you copy the tomcat/webapps/BOE folder from your webserver to the same location on appserver, I think the issue will be resolved.
Regards,
Alan
