SAP Table: How to display the total number of records processed in SAP table

I'm trying to view the total number of records including the processing time in generating a SAP table using a certain transaction code.

Let us take for example I want to view the Vendor Master Data by using the Transaction Code ZGTMM29. Once SAP is done processing and displays the table. I want also to view the total number of records processed above or somewhere in the table.

Hi,

Well, for SAP permanent tables, standard or self-developed, you just have to go to SE16N and push on 'Number of entries' button.

But, the way you describe it, you speak actually not about a table, but an output report produced by some Z-program. In this case, the table is internal and you cannot access it directly; it's just a result of program execution. Hence, if you want this information displayed on the screen, you will have to ask to modify this program.

Thanks Eli.

Unfortunately, I have no access to SE16N. I just requested for access to this TCode. I should ask-- can I view the Vendor Master Data through SE16N? If I can view it, what's the table name?

Thank you very much!

Vendor master data is stored in different tables; all start with LF*. Main tables are: LFA1 and LFB1.

Hi

You should be able to do that using T Code TAANA. Click on Perform and than specify the table name and you can take a table count in background or foreground mode. You also have the flexibility to get the count based on specific selection parameters. Say for eg, in BKPF you are looking for table count based on company code & fiscal year combination.

Hi Sanil,

Thanks for the response. However, I tried T-Code TAANA. I also don't have access to that function.

Hi

This is basically a BASIS transaction, but a very useful to a functional role from data estimation and analysis perspective. If you have the required access, you will get a lot of useful information from the same
