Is it possible to create custom put away and picking strategy in EWM?

If yes, is there any limit on how many can be created?

Yes we can do it.

EWM has provided BADI for Putaway and Picking strategies.

IMG > Extended Warehouse Management > Business Add-Ins (BAdIs) for Extended Warehouse Management > Goods Receipt Process > Putaway Strategies

Here you can choose the BADI as per your business requirement and define your own logic.
