CAL SAP Solution Manager 7.2 - Import best practices

Hi,

Trying to find the easy way to fill the libraries with the solution documentation. (I like to start greenfield, best practices, so not 7.1 system available)

Via Solution Administration --> Solution --> SAP Best Practices Packages --> Import SAP Best Practice Packages.

I get the following (logical) error (no license in CAL system):

500 SAP Internal Server Error

ERROR: SAP customer number unknown for installation number &INITIAL& (termination: RABAX_STATE)

Anybody an idea how to fill the (process) libraries differently?

Hi Koen,

thanks for your request.

Please be aware that our first SAP Solution Manager 7.2 in CAL is exclusive for content transfer and content activation of customer Solution Documentation.

The Best Practise Import does not work in this Solution. We will release a new Solution pretty soon which includes alreade the Best Practise package.

If you dont like to wait you can create manually process step library.

We recently created a SAP CAL instance using the new SolMan solution you mentioned above.  Still, we are receiving the same error message reported by Koen.  I assume we need to perform some configuration in our CAL instance to be able to download the best practices.

Do you have a suggestion on what needs to be done?

Hi Daniel,

there was recently released a new Solution Manager 7.2 in CAL.

SAP Solution Manager 7.2 - Design and Build in Your SAP S/4HANA Planning Phase

This include already applied S4HANA Best Practise for your validation. As there are not many more Best Practises right now available we do not enable the Best Practise import functionality.

There is some configuration and S-User needed.

In which Best Practises you are interessted in?

Thank you again, Axel. Indeed I am using the new SolMan Solution you mentioned and I noticed the set of imported best practices under the Corporate Solution delivered with the build. I do not have any specific Best Practice in mind, but I was trying to practice the creation of a Solution, including the downloading of best practices.

If you could share or let me know where I can find the additional configuration steps I need to perform to be able to download best practices and also connect the SAP CAL SolMan instance to another CAL S/4HANA instance we have in the same Amazon AWS tenant it would be great.

Hi Daniel,

we still checking if it is possible to download BP content by your own with your credentials.

To connect a S4HANA system you just have to follow the common managed system setup in SOLMAN_SETUP. There is not special actions right now.
