Production BOM change automatic notification to costing team.

Hi,

Once i changed the production BOM, How costing team gets automatic notification that BOM has been updated/changed?

So that costing team again re-run/re-cost the BOM...

Hello,

Costing team should have a process to update the standard cost frequently (1 per year, 2 times per year, every month, etc.). When that happens, the new modification will be part of the new standard cost.

In the meantime, those modification made by you, will be collected as variances. This is the standard SAP process.

Now if you have a requirement to communicate every modification done in the system, maybe you can create a process for this. For this process you can create reports, workflows, etc.. but you will need a consultant to support you.

Hi Santhosh,

You can see the variances in the production order or process order.

Goto --> Cost --> Analysis

The execution will be done according to the new BOM and you will have variances since the new BOM is different from the BOM used to calculate the standard cost.

Hi Santhosh,

You can access the production order with t-code CO03. Then follow the menu:

Goto --> Cost --> Analysis

I suggest to search before posting question that you can find for your own in google (like how to access a production order). You can also contact the IT person of your company to support you.

Hi Santhosh,

I have not seen any such feature in standard SAP.

We manage this via custom reports which are run and display who/when changed the BOM.

Do you use Engineering change management for changing your BOM ? Then it would be easy to track changed and develop something custom for this.
