FYI to the SAP Planning and Consolidation, version for the Microsoft platform Community.
I just tried to perform a 2 web server, 1 sql server install with a remote fileshare for the data path using BPC 10.1 for Microsoft, Server package 05.
Other details:
SQL 2014 SP1 CU5 Enterprise
Windows Server 2012 R2 (fully updated)
I then ran into multiple issue with the fileshare, most notably, "The network name cannot be found".
This error was verified by performing a separate like install.
The system was successfully implemented with BPC 10.1 for Microsoft, Server package 04 Patch Level 3.
BEWARE of BPC 10.1 for Microsoft, Server package 05 if you're using a remote fileshare for the data path
On a side note, we also noticed a second bug.
Several stored procedures were missing from the appserver database after performing the second application install.
Take aways:
1. If using a remote fileshare for the data path, don't use BPC 10.1 for Microsoft, Server package 05.
2. If using a multi app server architechture, backup your appserver database prior to installing the 2nd appserver.
If anyone else has a list of known bugs, please share.
Hi Jon,
A patch was released to fix this. Let me know if you have further questions.
Thanks

After validating this issue in a second environment we rolled back to Server package 04 Patch Level 3 and proceeded without issue. The bpc admin account is a member of the local administrators group, so that should trump the performance monitor users group membership.
Here's what I pulled from the application log prior to rebuilding:
(I no longer have tbllogs, but it was basically saying, "The network name cannot be found").
This is an "Unhandled exception", so the error was not been handled).
Does SAP have a bug bounty program?

Hi Jon,
Do you have the logging enabled? If so can you attach your TBLLOG file?
Thanks,
April

Hi Jon,
If you enable the logging do you see an error in the TBLLOGS about the network path and is it refrencing the performance monitor?
If so take a look at SAP KB 2293557 about the new management console and the prereqs. Make sure the BPC Admin user is a member of the performance monitor users of the DB and OLAP server.
