Hi,

Can we assign common group counter to common routing group.

Say for example if one material code A0001 has routing group as 50000001 with group counter as 1 and other material code A0002 has  commom routing group as 50000001 then can same group counter as 1 be assigned? If yes than how since while performing it to material code A0002 i am getting a error as group counter already exist.

Regards,

Sun

Sun,

It sounds like you are improperly using the create mode.  Instead, you should go into the existing Routing Group, with the Group Counter 1, in change mode, and then assign the additional material.

CA02 > enter Routing Group, Key Date, group counter number, execute.   Select Routing > Material Assignment.  Assign the material and plant, using the same group counter.

Group counter along with routing group is used to uniquely identify the routing.

It is created automatcally while creating a routing and incremented every time you try to create an alternative routing for the group
