Ok. So what is the function module behind that set up to do?

The process you want to do should be fully possible via the action boxes. Did your company write that action? Any action boxes provided by SAP are mostly examples of how you can them. A few can be used as is out of the box. But most will need to be mofified to work in a particular system.

Hello Craig,

Thanks for your reply.

I have created a custom function module by copying the standard FM and changed the code according to the business requirement. The new function module is configured against the action item(decline task). The function module is being called and action is performed. But when i save the notification , the task status is not getting updated . is there any specific function module to change the task status before save?

(Note: please reply as comments and not an answer unless you are providing a solution, thanks!! :-) )

When you say the action is being performed, what do you mean? If the action box is being triggered and running your FM but you aren't getting the behavior you want, this is strictly a progamming issue which we can probably not help you with. It may be that due to certain limitations maybe the status can't be updated while you have it open, so this needs to be done at saving. (i.e. a message after clicking on the action box "task updated upon saving"). Or maybe the program is just wrong. It almost impossible to help on a forum with custom programming. You consider tagging this as an ABAP issue.
