Log file into separate location

We are using SAP BO XI 3.1 SP6.We have 3 clustered environments. Please let me know how can we move logfile into separate location.

Log location can be controlled by BO_Trace.ini

you can use the 'system configuration wizard' in CMC to change the log location

Ah sorry, you are using XI3.1 ...  that utility is BI4.1

As you are in .1 environment, System Configuration Wizard is not available.

Hi Anutosh,

System Configuration Wizard is available in CMC for BI 4.1.

This utility is not available in BO XI 3.1, the version you are using.

So, as Denis mentioned for BO XI 3.1 you can change the location of the log files using BO_Trace.ini file. Traces are generated in the “C:\Program Files\Business Objects\BusinessObjects Enterprise 12.0\logging” folder by default. However you can change the location where the logs are to be written by using log_dir option in the BO_trace.ini. To do this, just add the below line to the existing BO_Trace.ini file.

Eg. log_dir = "C:/Temp_location";

Note the forward slash while specifying the directory structure.

You may required to move the logs to a shared location based on Age. Since you have 3 node cluster you may required to move logs from all 3 nodes to your shared log path. Check here to get an idea
