Individual Product in Business ByDesign.

Hi Team,

Whenever am creating a service order, when I search for a product, I see lot of duplicates created for my main product and the product type is Individual Product.

I see that the Product types are classified into Material, Service and Individual Product.

What is Individual Product and how do I Control this?

An individual material is a component of a fixed asset that is valued separately and whose inventory is tracked separately.

An individual material has two main functions:

• It enables the integrated procurement and invoicing process as well as the sale process used with fixed assets. For example, supplier invoices can be assigned to an individual material, enabling the acquisition costs to be posted to the fixed asset. In the same way, the sale of fixed assets can be processed at the level of the individual material.

• Usually at least one individual material is assigned to a fixed asset. For fixed asset accounting, you always manage postings for the fixed asset with reference to (or at the level of) one of these individual materials. For transfer postings or retirements, the individual material is used to determine proportional acquisition costs and depreciation of the fixed asset.
