Hi ,

Do we have to create packaging material in ERP and then CIF it to ECC ?

I mean can't we create it directly in EWM and use it without creating it in ECC .

Hello Srini,

It's all depend on your scenario and requirement.

Packg. Mat is needed for creating HU.

Scenario 1

Suppose you are creating HU in ECC and then passing it to EWM  then in this case you have to create in ECC.

Scenario 2

You create HU in EWM system and you want to communicate it back to ECC then in this case you have to create it in ECC as well.

In this case you shall create and CIF it to EWM .

And say if you don't want to communicate it to ECC then no need to create in ECC system.

We have both scenario.

Sometimes we create HU in ecc and pass it to ewm and vice versa.

CK how the consumption ,stock and availability is concerned to packaging material.

Could you just brief on this . It will help me to understand .

Hi srini,

' consumption- Rel VAS' check box is in the warehouse data view of product master data can record the consumption of packaging materials, and this check box can be used for pack materials only.

If activate this check box, the system can check for the stock of packaging materials in the bin, which is assigned for work centre.

And one thing, packaging materials also have some value and those also calculate in the WH processes.

Is there any specific reason? If pack material is not in ecc, how we capture the consuption, at which level we can maintain the stock, if we maintain the stock in any storage type, that could be updated in ECC through availabilty groups...
